Signing, Lighting & Guarding - NRSWA O1/Unit 2 for Ops

The Signing Lighting and Guarding unit for Operatives is also known as Unit 2 and can be undertaken as a one-day course, as a standalone unit on a NRSW card.

Description

Who Should Attend?

This course is aimed at anyone who works on the public footway or carriageway and is a minimum legal requirement.

Course Content:

Candidates will learn about the New Roads and Street Works Act and also learn about how to use equipment such as; portable traffic lights, traffic control signs and stop/go boards.

Training Methods

In classroom followed by practical assessment and 20 questions multiple choice test.

Candidates will be required to complete both theory based and practical assessments and will be observed whilst working by those training to be Supervisors.  


Certification:

Upon successful completion of this training course, candidates will be awarded with a certficate from  the relative awarding body followed by a plastic ID card issued by the street works qualifications register (SWQR).

Accreditations are valid for 5-years

N.B. SLG is a minimum legal requirement

NRSWA re-assessment course is specifically designed as an invigilated examination-only course, adhering to the requirements set by the Highway Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC). Once this is completed the candidates Street Works card will be renewed for a full 5 years.

The full 5 day NRSWA Street Works Operative course is for anyone who wants to undertake physical work in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. Delegates are required to demonstrate their competence in safe methods of excavation, backfill and reinstatement of modular, flexible and composite surfaces and concrete footways and location and avoidance of underground utilities.

The full 5 day NRSWA Street Works Supervisor course is for anyone who wants to monitor physical work under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. Delegates are required to demonstrate their monitoring in safe methods of excavation, backfill and reinstatement of modular, flexible and composite surfaces and concrete footways and location and avoidance of underground utilities.

NRSWA OPERATIVE or SUPERVISOR REFRESHER course is specifically designed to refresh your memory on adhering to the requirements set by the Highway Authorities and Utilities Committee (HAUC) before sitting the online open book tests. Our trainers will spend 2-3 hours each day guiding you through the various books before you sit down for the invigilated test. Once this is completed the candidates Street Works card will be renewed for a full 5 years.
